Has anyone taken this tour (recommended by RS)?

Maybe this is a different food tour company but if you mean the eatingitaly food tour, yes I have and it was wonderful! Plenty of food and wine plus a great group and guide. Don’t plan on eating either before if after-you will be too full of amazing Italian food!

Oh good. I was hoping for a positive response...even though Trip Advisor speaks volumes! You took the one during the day, correct?

Took this tour a couple of years ago and loved it. Go hungry! We had to bring the last tastings home in a go bag. I've been going to Rome for years, and this tour got me into new territory off the tourist trail. Highly recommend!

Yes, just a year or so ago. I enjoyed it, and recommend it. I think Eating Italy does a good job all around (I’ve been on several.) The guides are great, very fun and informative. Testaccio is an interesting neighborhood, but would be hard to appreciate without a guide. From that perspective alone, it’s worth it. The food was good, though I enjoyed the food their Trastavere tour more. You definitely get your value for the money, however. You will not go hungry.

Hi NP,
I took the twilight Trastevere tour with the same company. Enjoyed it very much.

NP-yes, we took the tour during the day. Although we didn't take the Trastevere tour, I have read wonderfully positive comments about it. I believe there is an evening option for this one. If you will be there for a few days, I recommend trying both! Completely different parts of Rome. Enjoy! And as I said, don't plan on eating much before the tour!

awrzesinski - we could do the Trastevere tour - why did you feel that one was better?

vandrabrud - I considered the Twilight Trastevere tour but wasn't sure if worth it for kids? We will have 3 with us (16, 14, 12).

andi - would love to do two tours, but with five people we have to choose just one. The Taste of Testaccio should be just fine for kids this age, right? We did a food tour in Seville and really liked it. I could consider Twilight Trestevere but RS said that the Testaccio tour was better. I suppose, like everything, it's in the eye of the beholder!

Yes, NP-perfectly suitable for kids although I suppose they will bypass the included wine 😊. Lots of non alcoholic choices are also included. I loved the food, good mix of sweets and savories.
