I currently have train reservations for Monday, May 6th from Rome to Bari and have a car reserved in Bari for 8 days. Due to the looming possibility of a train strike this weekend which could even affect train service on Monday I am thinking of renting the car at FCO airport in Rome and driving to Bari. The drop fee is nominal for a one way rental so that is not an issue. What I would like to know, from anyone who has done the drive, is how is the drive? I see it will take at about 4.5 hours, which is fine. I see that it is mostly on the Autostrada so doesn't look difficult.
Any info that anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
