Does anyone know if this train line is still operational? When I searched for the Ponte Rio station in Todi, the result said it was permanently closed. Thanks.
Trenitalia shows all buses to Todi.
Thanks, Sam. I have seen those schedules, but was wondering what happened to that FCU train.
You wandered into a big controversy. The line is only running in short segments. It's been taken over by the state railways, after just about falling apart under the regional government. Supposedly, FS is redoing the line, re-electrifying it and will run new trains on it. But the work is going slowly. I wouldn't count on riding that train for awhile.
Iād considered visiting Todi a couple of years ago, but the only bus (from Orvieto) was departing at 5:30 AM!
Todi is still on my bucket list!
Enjoy your trip!
Thank you, apaonita. It sounds like those smaller train lines are having quite a bit of difficulty. I recently learned the FSE line in Puglia has also been taken over by Trenitalia. Thank goodness there are still buses!
Priscilla, I agree with you. The buses from certain places to Todi are very few and have difficult hours. I think from Perugia is really the best option for public transportation.
