Rebecca,

I just got back from Rome yesterday and used www.romeshuttlelimousine.com for a 4:45 AM pickup on Easter Sunday. They were prompt, safe, and the car (a mercedes, I think), was immaculate. We paid the driver directly. It was 40 euros from Rome to FCO (including a 5 euro surcharge b/c of the early time--normally it's 35).

Can shuttle be hire as you leave the airport terminal or do you need to arrange for it in advance?

Larry - I believe you get a better rate if reserved in advance - but check on that

Rebecca - I have used Rome Shuttle Limosine. They were prompt & helpful.

The advantage I found when I reserved my RT shuttle to & from the airport in Rome, was on the day of our outbound flight there was a taxi strike...! If we had not prearranged our shuttle, we would have been schleping our bags to find a train station from our hotel, at the last minute, prob not making our connection in time.

We met a fellow in our hotel lobby who needed to get to the airport the same time as we did. He offered to pay the amount he would have been charged for a taxi to ride with us in our shuttle. He was surprised at the savings we made by using a shuttle service vs a taxi. Luckily we were picked up in a van & there was room for us baggage too- and we all made it quickly to the airport.

We used Rome Shuttle Limousine last month, and they were great. The driver was waiting for us, as promised, and he was very friendly and informative. His job was just to drive us to our hotel, but he pointed out sights along the way.

I just returned from a wonderful Rome vacation and spent over $1,000 on Rome Shuttle Limousine's services. I do NOT recommend them. Stay away. All over the site they advertise a Mercedes Benz fleet. Two of our rides were in dirty old cars, a Chrylser mini-van and Lancia. The latter vehicle had no air conditioning...a very unpleasant trip from airport to Rome hotel on top of jet lag. Plus they picked us up late at the cruise port in Civitavecchia almost leading to a missed flight home. I complained but www.romeshuttlelimousine.com don't care.
