I am arriving in Rome at @ 0850am and have a train reservation to Venice at 11:45am from Rome's Termini station. Does that give me enough time to clear customs and taake the Leonardo express to Termini to catch my train??

Maybe, IF your flight arrives on time ( this is the biggest IF ) and IF you don't check baggage & IF customs isn't moving too slow. If the stars align, you will leave FCO by 0945 and get to Termini by 1100 or so. Your Venice train leaves from Termini station.

I am more positive. You should be able to do it. The big IF is you plane arrive but most international flights tend to be close to on time. Customs is walk through, immigrations will take a little time depending on the line. If land at 8:50, you should be at the train terminal by 9:50. The L Express leaves a little before the half hour and hour. So you miss the 10AM and catch the 10:30. You will be in Termini by 11. Ten minutes to get off and walk to the head of the platform and check your platform for departure to Venice. And another ten minutes to the platform, so you have a margin of about 20 minutes. You could be as late as 11:30 and still be OK. If you haven't booked the ticket I would consider the 12:45 or little late train so I could spend sometime in the bathroom and getting some lunch.
