FCO to Piazza Trilussa

Hi !
We will be in Rome in 2 days and are very excited about it !

We have an airbnb near Piazza Trilussa. Our host gave us 3 choices to get there:

1) Taxi (more expensive option I guess)
2) Private drive that would cost 45 Euro
3) Train to Trastevere station then Tram 8 to Belli and then 10 minutes walk. I guess it's the leats expensive option but...

  • How much would that option cost ?
  • Where I get the train ? the tram ?
  • I guess i have to put tickets in a machine before getting in...

Thanks !

You can get a taxi, it is 48 euros. They should be waiting outside.
You can use www.romecabs.com or http://www.rome-chauffeur.com. Schedule ahead of time, several days at least, costs 50 euros.
If you are coming to Rome for the first time, I would skip the train and tram option. Can be confusing at first. Taxi and private drivers are so much easier and worth it! You can figure out the trams after arriving. #8 gets you to most places you want.

I stayed in Trastevere, you will love it!

You would catch the regional train to Trastevere on the same platform as the Leonardo Express. It's usually on a track to the left or right, with the Leonardo Express on the center track. There are machines to validate your ticket as you enter the platform. Cost of ticket from FCO to Trastevere station is 8 euro. You can buy tram tickets at the Trastevere station. I believe the cost is 1.50 euro, but it could be slightly higher. You would validate the ticket in the machine on the tram. Figure about 10 euro per person for train and tram.

2) Private drive that would cost 45 Euro

If your host is setting this up, I see it as a GREAT choice.

Having a driver waiting for you to take you directly to your destination at a less than taxi cost is hard to beat.
