FCO Recommended Time Between Connecting Flights

I arrive at FCO 10:30 am from ATL. I am considering a connecting flight to VEN that departs at 12:30 pm that same day. In your opinion, is 2 hours between flights doable, accounting for customs and travel between terminals?

There are previous dated forums on this topic with mixed reviews. Can anyone shared their recent experience? Thank you.

One ticket with Delta/Alitalia (both SkyTeam partners): Yes. If your flight arrival is late and you miss the connection, Alitalia will board you on the next flight.

If separate with a different low cost airline, then it's risky.
