FCO meeting place question

hi all, we'll be landing in FCO T3, and then have elderly parents and other family members on 2 different flights arriving within 90 minutes (hopefully) into the same terminal. i need to give them a clear and easy plan for meeting.

does anyone recall if it's possible for us to wait in the terminal to greet them when they deplane, as you do at Changi Airport? or, are we forced to shuffle through immigration immediately after our plane lands?

thanks so much!

Meet them at the T3 Meeting Point

Here is the T3 Meeting point photo.

In most, if not all, European airports (including FCO) deplaning passengers and boarding passengers at the same gate are separated by a glass wall. Once you deplane you will be channeled from the jetway through a path to the passport control and eventually to the baggage claim/arrival area. That path is separated from the area where passengers are waiting to board the same gate. You can probably see them across the glass wall when you come out of the plane, but you can't touch them. Once all arrival passengers are deplaned and channeled away to the passport control and arrival area, then they open the entrances to the glass wall for the boarding passengers to board the same gate. Therefore deplaning passengers and boarding passengers can't mix. Kissing, greeting, and cross breeding is not allowed in European airports (at least in all European airports I have been).
