FCO immigration and meeting point

So my friends and I are reaching Rome on the 18th this month. Or flights have a difference of roughly an hour. I'll be landing before them and I'll be coming from a non european area with a stop in Istanbul as I'm flying Turkish airlines
I plan to get my luggage and get through the immigration then find a place to wait for my friends because I'm assuming immigration for me could take a while compared to my friends as they're both flying from Paris (but they hold a U.S. And an Indian passport)
So my question is there a place to wait or a lounge after getting through the immigration? Also roughly how long should I expect the queues at immigration to be around this time of the year?

You are all probably arriving at Terminal T3.

After they pick up their luggage, tell them to follow the sign to the T3 Meeting Point. It's a red column with the sign saying Meeting Point and the meeting logo (four arrows pointing to the center dot).

How long the immigration lines are will likely depend on how many extra Schengen flights arrive simultaneously. I always have to go through the EU citizens line (which is never long), but I have rarely seen the other non citizen line too long. Generally in my experience what has taken me the longest in Rome has always been the baggage claim, not so much the passport control.

Thank you for the reply
Is this meeting point after or before the immigration? As I want to be done with my luggage and immigration when I land and then wait for my friends

The meeting point will often have lots of drivers around it holding name cards. You can't miss it if you follow the advice of the previous poster. www.romecabs.com even has a video about how to find the meeting point right near the bottom of their home page.

Nanwar1214,

Have you considered waiting at your hotel instead? That way you can either check in, or just drop your luggage and use the restroom if it's too early.

That way if anyone is delayed, no one will be stuck waiting in the airport when Rome is right there!

Do check which terminal your friends are arriving in. Since Paris to Rome is within Schengen, they will not go through passport control on arrival in Rome. However, from Paris they could land at T1 (Air France and Alitalia), T2 (Easyjet) or T3 (Vueling). If they arrive at T1 or T2, they will walk from there to T3 (easy, less than 10 minutes). As long as you are all looking for each other at the same meeting point in the same terminal, this should work.

@Nordheim
The difference in our flights is only around an hour so I don't mind waiting at the airport

@harold
That sounds good but do u think I'll be able to go through the immigration etc and then wait at my friends terminal or the passport control area is after the terminal area. My only concern is that I'm thinking the immigration line for my passport might be longer since I'll be coming from a non schengen area so that one hour time between my flight and my friends I want to spend getting done with my luggage and immgration etc instead of waiting for my friends for an hour and then getting in line for immigration. I hope I was able to explain what I mean lol

"do u think I'll be able to go through the immigration etc and then wait at my friends terminal or the passport control area is after the terminal area. "

Yes. The whole purpose of the meeting points is that they're after immigration and customs, so anyone can access them. You wait there for your friends to emerge.

So, reverse what I said above. Instead of your friends going to T3 to meet you, find out what terminal they arrive at, and go to the meeting point there to meet them. Just make sure everyone agrees which terminal you're meeting in, and give everyone strict instructions not to move from that terminal (otherwise, like in a comedy, you'll be going to their terminal while they go to yours, and you'll never find each other!).

Each terminal has a designated meeting point - just ask for it. If you go to the Ron In Rome link above, he has very detailed directions, with pictures, for T3.

Thank u this has been really helpful. What's the meeting point area like? I did look at the Ron in Rome pics but I can't tell if there's any proper seating or something if I'm waiting for around an hour for my friends?
