Hello!
Going to Rome in December.
What's the best way to get from the airport (FCO) into the city?
Fixed rate taxi
55 euros
No tip needed
I used Rome cabs- private car service not a cab.

My preference is to take a taxi directly to my hotel. It’s a flat rate to central Rome: €55.
See https://www.adr.it/web/aeroporti-di-roma-en/pax-fco-taxi on the FCO website.
There’s also the Leonardo Express train to Termini Rail Station, then you can take a taxi to your hotel from there.
Depending on how many people are traveling together (and sharing the taxi) and which area of Rome you are staying in, the combination of train plus taxi may or may not make sense, if one wants to save money. With a party of 3, the taxi directly from the airport is probably the best and just as cheap option.
Tell us the hotel address and we can give you the options with the respective prices.
We always use the train -- BECAUSE -- Termini is within a couple blocks of the hotel we use and we walk from the train station. . However if staying in an area other than Termini, then the taxi at the fixed rate is best especially if two or more.
Since we usually stay in the Trastevere, we take the FL1 train to Trastevere station, then the tram down Via Trastevere. Maybe the cheapest way to get into Rome, and it avoids backtracking from Termini.
We've used RomeCabs mentioned by sdw a number of times. Always been pleased. After a long flight, being tired, sleepy, and jet lagged, it's worth to extra money to have a private driver meet us in the terminal and whisk us to the hotel. Nothing wrong with using a regular taxi, but you asked for the best way and, in our opinion, it's a private driver. And the extra cost is really small compared to the overall cost of the trip.
