Sorry should have included this question with my previous question.
Hi need some help with the Vatican Museum. I have the webpage for faxing the Vatican for tour reservations. The fax number is 06 6988 5100 Do I need some sort of prefix with that?
011 39 06 6988 5100
011 is the prefix in the U.S. that says that what follows is an international call.
39 is the country code for Italy (Britain is 44 and the U.S. and Canada are "1") and says that what follows is the number in the foreign country.
What follows is the Italian phone number.
Hi Maggie,
Be sure and not fax your request too early. They only accept them 30 days ahead and send your confirmation directly to your hotel if you provide the hotel or b&b's fax number in your request. For some reason they only send confirmation response a few days prior to visit so that's why they like to send to hotel as most are on their way from oveseas a few days ahead. So be sure and get the fax number of your accomodations.
With your fax confirmation you just show up near the door and show it to the guard 15 mins prior to confirmed time and then he lets you ahead of the very long line right at your scheduled time. This worked perfectly for my family last spring and the museum was amazing but very very crowded.
Have fun,
Kim
