I am looking for favorite restaurants in the Monti. Any ideas?
We greatly enjoyed our meal here: https://www.latavernadeiforiimperiali.com/roman-cuisine.html
I second the vote for Fori Imperiali. Be sure to make reservation. Excellent cacio e pepe and menu all around. Great atmosphere inside or out.
Another Monti restaurant, that I’d recommend after Fori is Alle Carrertte, which is nearly across the street. I had pizza that was incredible and I think they have typical dinner entrees as well.
Have fun!
I like Taverna Romana. All three restaurnts now mentioned are on the same street less than a block apart, so you could always stop by and compare them before deciding. Dinner reservations are essential, and making them at lunch hour is generally sufficient.
Just a couple of minutes walk northwest of Fiori Imperiali in Piazza del Grillo is Ristorante Mario's which we enjoyed very much
We really enjoyed L'Asino d'Oro (Via del Boschetto 73). The chef is Umbrian and the restaurant has a nice neighborhood feel. They don't have a website, only a Facebook page, and it doesn't seem like they respond to messages there. We asked our hotel to make a reservation.
Thank you all for you quick and helpful replies. We cannot wait to try some of these places!
Another recommendation for L’Asino d’Oro, one of the area’s more unusual choices with an ever-changing menu, but always fabulous.
We loved Nerone. It's a little out of Monti, near Termini. Also for pizza, Al Forno Della Soffitta which is also in that district.
