Looking for recommendations for excellent but not fussy eating, Michelin stars not required.
Hi, Giangilberto from Milan, so, if you're looking for some not fussy eating, Turin could be the perfect city, I recommend eating at the traditional "Piole", typical Turinese trattorias offering good-quality food at affordable prices in a convivial atmosphere, where you can sample authentic traditional Piedmontese dishes.
You simply must try vitello tonnato (veal with tuna sauce), which originated in this city, and agnolotti del plin (small egg-pasta ravioli with a meat filling).
However, my absolute favorite remains bagna cauda, a dish made from anchovies, garlic, and extra virgin olive oil cooked slowly together. It is served hot in an earthenware pot for dipping raw and cooked vegetables, as a garlic lover, I adore it, below the link of my favorite piola in town:
Hi Giangilberto,
thanks for the post, now I know about the Piola, and will investigate starting with an apparently noteworthy example down the street from our hotel.
We liked OSTERIA ANTICHE SERA very much.
