Favorite Restaurant in Florence?

Heading to Florence in June. Do you have a favorite restaurant? We don't want to spend $$$$, but $$ - $$$ is fine! :) What was your favorite meal there? Thanks in advance.

We loved Il Sostanza known for the excellent chicken--they call it butter chicken. It is a tiny restaurant located between the Arno and Santa Maria Novella. I can't remember if they take reservations but there are two seatings in the evening--7 and 9 I think. This place has been in the same family for many years.

We had lunch at a great place. Excellent food, good ambiance, fine wine. Name is Olio & Convivium Gastronomia Restaurant and is on the Pitti Palace side of the river on Via di Santo Spirito. The web site is http://www.oliorestaurant.it/video_eng.php. A bit pricey at lunch and more so at dinner. But the overall experience was worth it. Will eat there again. Check it out and see if what you think

Vini e Vecchi Sapori: small osteria near the Duomo, delicious duck pappardelle, small menu with local and seasonal dishes, gruff but good waiters.

Club Culinario Toscana da Osvaldo: mix of Tuscan and Umbrian food. Very regional dishes you won’t see on too many menus, handmade fresh pastas, good cheap wine, more locals (or at least Italians from other cities) than tourists. Order the Umbrichelli with sausage and truffles if it’s on the menu.

Ciro & Sons on via del Giglio. Great pasta, salad, antipasti.

Had lunch a couple of times at The Golden View on via de Bardi over on the Oltrarno side of the river. The main attraction is the spectacular view of the Ponte Vecchio and the Uffizi just across the river, but the food was surprisingly good and reasonably priced. There's a little deli adjacent to it that features killer desserts for takeaway.

Also be sure to try a panino al lampredotto. Just don’t spend a ton of time thinking about what it is if you’re not an adventurous eater. But it’s delicious and uniquely Florentine.

Dondino wine bar on Santa Croce is indeed a good value as fresh salmon mentioned. We also like Trattoria Nerone on Via Faenza $$. Great black truffle pasta

We had a very nice meal at Acquacotta. Tripadvisor lists over 1500 restaurants featuring Italian food.
