Looking for your favorite restaurants or trattoria, etc. in Venice. Also what are ideas for pensione or hotels, etc. that you have stayed at in Venice, preferably 80-100 euros, clean and preferably one of
Rick Steve's choices. thanks in advance.
Not on RS list, but at 95 euros, a great place, 5 minutes from San Marco: Ai Tagliapietra B&B. Check it out on Trip Advisor. The only drawback is no A/C for summer. We were there in October, so windows closed most of the nights. A little noise, but that is common in Venice since the calles are like caverns that echo. Mostly over by 10 or 11 PM. Ai Tagliapietra serves a nice breakfast, great coffee, and Lorenzo gives wonderful service. Very clean, too, and so very convenient!
Try Nono Risorto, a RS pick, for dinner. Also liked his pick in Campo San Barnaba, Ristoteca Oniga. A little more pricey, but not bad for Venice.
Laurel probably means Ristorante Oniga.
I stand corrected. Rick has it wrong in his book. It's a made-up word that's a cross between ristorante and enoteca. Clever.
Mary, we're staying at the Al Portico in Venice. The price for a double/private bath is 96euros, the reviews seem very good.
Casa Rezzonico in the Dorsoduro neighborhood.
We loved it.
When going to Venice, we rent apartments through vrbo. Really enjoy Castello. Favorite restaurant: Alla Strega in Castello. Love the pizza. Nice service, non-touristy.
