Choose one with many positive reviews on the AirBnB listing. Those reviews will be more valuable than one person's input from a separate message board. Read through all of them and the amenities carefully. I always look for properties that have NO instances of the host cancelling the reservation.

Check out this website. We stayed in another apartment but was a studio. This is in the same building. Great neighborhood. The Dorsoduro.

It's too bad that Ca' Venexiana relies on misleading advertising. One look at their website and you'd swear their apartment was located on the Grand Canal. Far from it. The apartment is located near Calle Lunga and Rio de l'Avogaria, a neighborhood I know well. This is also a high tide location during Acqua Alta. I would inquire about flooding on the ground floor and the smell of mold and mildew before booking there.

We stayed in that building in a ground floor apartment. No mold smell, very nice place. Great location too

We recently stayed in a great 3 bedroom/3 bath apartment in the Via Garibaldi neighborhood. We booked through VRBO (# 1440737) that was about a 10 minute walk from St. Marks and 3 minute from the Grand Canal making it ideal to catch the vaporetto to get around. The apartment is on the 1st floor, very clean, updated, modern and very comfortable. The owners cousin met us at the vaporetto stop upon our arrival and walked us through a lovely park to the apartment. I would highly recommend this very reasonably priced accommodation to anyone. Great restaurants nearby as well as a COOP grocery store with clerks who speak a reasonable amount of English to help you out. We also rented through VRBO in Florence, Cinque Terre, Rome and Amalfi and had a great experience at each place. Have a great trip!
