We are in Naples now and are heading to the Amalfi Coast tomorrow. We plan to spend several days along the coast. Anyone have recommendations eating spots you really liked? Thanks!
I was based in Salerno and ate dinners there. I had a subpar lunch with lousy service at a place in Amalfi Town right at the bottom of the cathedral steps. On Zoe's recommendation, I stopped for a pastry at Sal de Riso in Minori. It was so good, I went back 2 days later for another - and bought some to take back to Salerno too. If it's cold, their hot chocolate is really good. If it's hot, their gelati looked tempting.
Li Galli Bar, steps away from the Sponda bus stop above Positano isn't much to look at, a little bar-looking thing into the side of the mountain. It was the only thing open when we were there earlier this month. But apparently it's an offshoot of a fancy restaurant down near the water, and is fabulous. A few tables right between the road and the cliff will give you nice views as well. The calamari is divine.
Bar Bruno in Positano has great food with the iconic view.
We were in Sorrento last night and ate a great dinner at Il Leone Rosso. We are in Minori now and agee with the rave reviews for Sal de Riso- great pasteries, gelato, coffee and food. Had a wonderful salad with tuna and fresh capers.
We loved Ristorante Savo in Atrani.
I'll second Il Leone Rosso in Sorrento, Becky. Huge menu, really hit the spot after taking the train back from Naples on a chilly day. It's right by the station.
