We're visiting Rome on July 6 and plan to visit the Coliseum. After reviewing several different tours, I see some labeled fast track and others labeled skip the lines. Which do you recommend and why?
Don't know but understand you may skip the ticket line but do not skip the security line.
Which line would you like to skip? The line to purchase tickets? Just get a ticket in advance on the official site.
I'm saying that You don't need to pay for a tour you are not interested in to avoid the line to buy the entrance tickets. Nobody skips security.

They are usually the same thing. No one at all is able to avoid the security checkpoints so it doesn't matter which one you choose: if you have booked a tour or a timed-entry ticket, you skip the ticket line and fast-track your entry to the Colosseum. It's fancy language meant to confuse first-time tourists. The tour you should choose should be the one includes what you want to see, for what you can afford, at a time which works with your itinerary.
