Hi everyone. I'll be traveling (by car, with a private driver) from Orvieto (after staying there twice previously and 4 days on this trip) to Rome in early October after nearly 2 weeks in Italy. I am hoping for a recommendation about an agriturismo or cute town to stop in for lunch. Just a final beautiful, peaceful place to have lunch somewhere in between the two places before entering the chaos of Rome (which I love, but which is always a shock to my system!). Maybe Bolsena for lunch on the lake? Any ideas like that? I'd be so appreciative for any suggestions you may have. The driver may have ideas as well, but I appreciate your tips from your personal experience! Thanks!
It's not that far, so I would eat in Orvieto. La Palomba is a wonderful spot.
Hi PonyGirl, Thanks so much for replying. I edited my post to clarify that I've been to Orvieto before (and I've eaten at La Polomba and agree that it's terrific!) and will staying there for 4 days this time. What I'm hoping for is a stop along the way after we leave Orvieto and before we get to Rome. I've been researching Bolsena (not that far from Orvieto, but I've never been there, and if we leave Orvieto at 11 or 11:30, that could be a fun place to stop for lunch on the lake). I appreciate your reply, and it made me clarify my request! :-)
