Fall Weather Conditions in Italy

We are planning a trip with Rick Steve's travel in the fall of 2025. Just wondering if it would be better to travel in September or October? Would appreciate your thoughts as we are wanting to make our reservation this week. We are wanting to do the "Village Italy in 14 Days Tour."

Thanks for your input!

Besides the temperatures, I would select September for the added hours of daylight.

Central Italy:
September first half: usually still hot. Sunset btw 7:30pm and 7:50pm
September second half: usually less hot. Sunset btw 7pm and 7:30pm
October first half: usually warm midday but cooler nights. Sunset btw 6:30pm and 7pm
October second half: pleasant temperatures during the day and cool nights but high chance of rain. Sunset btw 6:15pm and 6:30pm before the 25th, then end of daylight saving and sunset is btw 5pm and 5:15pm.

I would avoid the second half of October because of shorter days and very high chance of rain.
First half of September is likely still very hot during the day, so be ready for that.
