Would a surgical mask be required or are we looking at KN95 or N95 masks?
The email we received about our upcoming France and Italy tours said to bring both kinds.
What tour are you on in Italy? We're on Best of South Italy in late May.
We are bringing n95 and kn95. Those surgical masks are not as good as kn95 or n95.=
Traveling the end of May on Best of Tuscany but transiting through Germany enroute that requires KN95 or N95 masks, so will bring surgical and KN95 and hope they do the trick. Thanks for your replies.
Have a great tour
I was in Italy at the beginning of this month. Where masks are required, KN95 or N95 or FFP2 are required. Except for on the plane and at the Vatican, I was never required to wear the 95-style mask. When I saw a few wearing plain surgical masks, I started using them instead and was never asked to switch.
If you wear surgical masks, be aware the are different grades. My orthodontist’s office recommended Beesure Vibe masks, level 3 protection, 4 ply, non-fog, adjustable nose and chin. I wear the Vibes at work and elsewhere and occasionally KN95s since the Vibes are more breathable. But what is it about face masks that makes my nose run?
Just returned from 2 weeks in Italy. Vatican/Sistine made those wearing surgical masks change to FFP22 or N-95.
Conductor on train between Padua dnd Verona made us change to N-95.
Other than those instances Type 3 surgical mask was fine.
CDC card enforcement in Rome was spotty. Orvietta everyone wanted to see card, Bologna pretty much no one cared - about anything. Padue/Verona was spotty with enforcement, Milan hotel did not seem to care, restaurant did and examined card.
Worst part was indeed 20+ hour day home wearing masks on a too hot airplane. Looked to me like the KLM crew was wearing a standard surgical mask (non-FFP22) as was I.
Almost all made the comment that only two more weeks and all requirements will be lifted, and they all seemed happy.
