I’ll be in Rome and Amalfi coast next week. Are face masks still required? Do I need FFP2 masks or are KN95 ok?

It was confirmed today that the need of mandatory masks is extended. It applies only on public transportation.
KN95 is ok. FFP2 in Italy are cheaper than in the US, sometimes even free, so don't fret if you don't have enough.

FFP2 and KN95 are basically the same thing. Either will be accepted.

Italy does not really set an end date, rather the Ministry of Health reviews the situation each month, or more frequently if needed, then lists measures in effect. Even if a date is given (end of June or July for example) the date is the minimum length of effect of the measures, they are just indicating they will review the measures by that date.
