I am planning my itinerary for May and was wondering if the Lido di Ostia was a good place to visit before flying home. I have 2 extra days and want to relax...any sugguestions. Should we take a train to a farther place?
It depends why you want to visit Lido di Ostia. If you just want to see the sea you're OK. Most of the beach clubs don't open until the very end of May or first week of June because the water isn't warm enough to swim.
If you want to relax, stay where you are and slow it down and experience the place you are at. Rome is a feast you could live on for a long time.
