Extra day in Rome...Suggestions?

Hi all,

My husband and I are planning our first trip to Rome in May, and I copied my sisters previous itinerary for our first 3 days. With an extra full day, I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions for a 4th day...something a bit more relaxing maybe? Here's our itinerary for Rome...the ideas I found for the extra day are Tuscany, Pompei and Amalfi Coast, or Capri....thoughts? We're going to Florence and Venice after the 4 days in Rome.

Current Itinerary:

Day 1- Collosseum, roman forum, mamertine prison, captial hill, pantheon, spanish steps, trevi fountain
Day 2- Vatican city... sistine chapel, st. peters basilica, pietta
Day 3- Catacombs san callisto, borghese, piazza novana shops/markets
Day 4- open

Thank you!!

Orvieto could be the desired relaxing destination. Beautiful hilltown with a wonderful cathedral. Good opportunities for an extended lunch. There is a direct (and cheap) Regionale train from the Rome Termini station at 09.00, arriving in Orvieto at 10.14. And direct Regionale trains back to the big city at 15.25 and 17.25.
Pompei or Amalfi coast involve a lot of travelling, and can hardly be called relaxing.
