Looking into the Southern Italy trip May 2026....from Naples is it doable to travel to Calabria for an additional few days? If so best airport to fly out from Calabria?

Do you mean exactly three days? I would find that difficult, though it is technically possible with a really targeted plan. The two airports are Lamezia Terme and Reggio Calabria (all the way at the tip). Did you have somewhere in the region in mind already? A lot depends on your transport and if you wanted to hug the coast (where train line runs) or get up into hill towns (wold require a car).
You might consider instead to just dip into the little bit of coast of Basilicata at Maratea.
