We will be extending our stay in Naples upon the conclusion of our 13 Days in Southern Italy tour in September 2026.
We will be there for an additional day. How should we spend our day beyond the tour itinerary? Thank you so much!
A minor tip but: The best sfogliatelle in the world is 5 minutes from the Naples train station. Antico Forno delle Sfogliatelle Calde Fratelli Attanasio Vico at Ferrovia 1/2/3/4. Walk aover, show up, grab a number right away and wait your turn. So worth it.
Enjoy Naples,

Consult the Blue Guide to really get into the nitty gritty, but things I personally flagged are the underground (Napoli Sotterranea)/catacombs, Herculaneum, walk the lungomare and see some fortresses/castles, make like Ripley and see some Caravaggio.
If you've had enough of all that, you can day trip to Caserta, head to one of the islands like Procida.
Just walking around is interesting, but if you share if archaeology or churches or something else is of more interest to you, you'll get specific replies.
