We are returning from a trip through Croatia, Austria and to Venice, for approximately nine days. Our trip ends in Milan, but we would like to take an extended four or five day trip somewhere in northern Italy, or into Switzerland, who will not be driving a car during that time also, what is a nice hotel to stay in Milan?

If you’ll be in Venice before heading to Milan,
you may consider visiting Verona for a couple of days, then end your trip in Varenna, Lake Como for 3 days.
Hotel Berna is a popular hotel with some on this forum and conveniently located near Milano Centrale.
I’ve stayed at Hotel Garda which is across the street from Hotel Berna.
