I was wondering if it is necessary to make reservations for the express train from Milan Centrale to Malpensa. We will be traveling on a Sunday. Many thanks ~

No need. Just find a kiosk and insert either cash or cc for the ticket BUT be sure to validate it before you board.
Also, "express" is a misnomer as it makes about 5 stops and takes 45 minutes to an hour to get to the airport.
