Experience with Blue-Panorama airlines

We will be heading from Rome to Nice in July after our R.S. Tour. Does anyone have any experience with Blue-Panorama airlines? They are a discount airline and it appears they are the only one who flys there. We had a bad experience with Air One cancelling our flight without telling us and now we want to make sure that this airline is reliable. Also, does anyone know how far it is from the Nice airport to the train station? Thank you for your help.

I can answer your last question: Rick says taxis in Nice are notorious for overcharging and that has been my personal experience--it could be a very expensive taxi ride from the airport to the main train station, ask before you get in. Bus #99 runs from both airport terminals to Nice's main train station, two buses per hour and takes about 30 minutes.

One other caution, a lot of the small airlines have very low baggage allowances & potentially a lot of add-on fees. Read the fine print re baggage. FYI-I just tried a booking site...& it indicated that AirFrance and Alitalia both have direct flights (at least on the random July dates I used.)

I'm right there with you, Mark. I booked a flight on Blu-Panorama from Rome to Catania for my trip in Sept and am quite nervous about it. Try checking the Rome airport site (www.adr.it) and you can see if your particular flight is leaving on time, late, canceled, etc. It doesn't keep past flight information, so you'll have to check it around the time that flight is actually leaving.
