Experience buying The Last Supper tickets recently?

I am looking for information from anyone who has bought The Last Supper tickets recently. It looks like they go on sale the Saturday before for one week at a time. I also read previously they were released at 9:30am Milan time. We will already be in Italy so I am trying to plan accordingly. We can go either Sat. Aug 7 or Sun Aug 8. So does that mean on Sat July 31 both of my days would go on sale?

Please remember to watch the timelines for when tickets go on sale. They were only allowing 25 people at a time for 15 minutes the last 2 times I went (July 2017 & March 2019). If the tickets go on sale at 8:00am Italy time you will need to get online in the middle of the night in the USA to get your tickets. I woke up at 2:00am and logged on to get mine a few minutes after they opened and there were very few left for the time I wanted. The website is vivaticket and I would suggest going on there now to set up your account so you won't be delayed by that when the time to purchase is here. Once you complete the reservation on vivaticket you will get a voucher, not a ticket. You must take this voucher to the ticket office just up the street from the church to exchange it for your actual tickets. Facing the entrance to The Last Supper the ticket office is maybe 30 meters to the left, not an issue. There can be lines at the ticket office so give yourself a few extra minutes to take care of this.

Ten years ago the only way we were able to get tickets was by buying a walking tour through a tour guide. It turned out to be a great experience all the way around and worth the extra money.

are people allowed to take photos inside, or is it a visit only with no photos? I don't remember if I have read it anywhere.

Because ticket availability is so very limited, I'd recommend researching tour options that include The Last Supper tickets so you have a back-up plan available. I'd guess tickets will be easier to get this year (assuming they haven't reduced the number of tickets sold for each time window), but you never know: All the Italians might decide to go to Milan this summer.

Can't guarantee you will be as lucky as my husband and I were. We tried to get tickets on line and none available. When we got off the train we took a cab to the ticket office and looked for tickets that day and I swear, she asked us what time would we like!!! And the tickets were way cheaper than was being offered on line.

Has anyone tried booking a guided tour through Milan Museum? All the dates were greyed out until I advanced to Jan 2022, where every day is clickable. I would like to go in March 2, 2022 and wonder if this is a trustworthy route. I was able to complete the reservation all the way to enter credit card info.

When I was there in October 2019, photography was allowed as long as no flash, no video and no tripods. Most people were using their cellphones.

I was there a few years before Leslie and my experience regarding photography was the same. I was actually much more drawn to the fresco at the other end of the room for my photos than the Last Supper which was much less easy to capture on my compact digital flashless camera - yes, before iPhone cameras got really good.

It was really clear that flashes were not welcome nor tripods nor monopods.
