has anyone heard if they are indeed extending the window when the additional areas of the colosseum are available for touring? my understanding is that the were late opening it, and some had intimated that they would probably extend the date they had originally planned for it to be open. i'll be in rome around christmas, and this is something i don't want to miss if possible.

Matthew, according to the following website which sells tickets to the underground tours no additional dates have been added http://www.tickitaly.com/tours/colosseum-dungeon-upper-level-tour.php Hoping they will extend this tour indefinitely as I will be in Rome in May.

I think it is thru Nov 30th but you can always give them a call to enquire. The tour was awesome.
