Excursions from Florence into Tuscany - which 2 to do?

Hello! I am reaching out to my fellow RS loyalists to assist with my itinerary - I am attempting to select day trips/excursions from Florence but all of the options seem wonderful, which is making this decision very hard.

We (5 adults) are definitely doing a Siena/San Gimignano private excursion but have another full day open.

The options private tour options are Val d'Orcia (Montepulciano, Pienza, Montalcino) OR Lucca/Volterra OR Lucca/Pisa/Versilia.

This would be our first time in Tuscany. What are your recommendations or suggestions?

Thank you kindly!

I'm sorry I can't offer comparisons, but wife and I stayed in/toured around the Val d'Orcia last summer and were blown away. Each town more beautiful than the last. If you choose this option, be ready for some steepish walks in Montepulciano and Montalcino (but also Brunello wine!).

Having said that, my guess is that you can't go wrong. We went all over--except of course for the other places you're asking about--and were enchanted for three weeks.

Thanks, Joel. To be honest, I am leaning towards Val D'Orcia. You are right - I definitely can't go wrong. Too bad I don't have another week or so in Tuscany...next trip!
