Just heard about this on CNN. Found this on Forbes but it looks like Forbes reported on this in June so maybe it is not brand new news.
For those that may not want to click the link, or want the summary, the long neglected Largo Argentina site (Known to many as a cat sanctuary) has been cleaned up and walkways installed to allow you to go down into the site. So "new" may be a bit sensational, more cleaned up and accessible.
Thanks, Paul - I saw that site (and the cats) on my first trip to Rome in 1997 so definitely not new but good to know it's been cleaned up and made accessible.
I visited this site in June, pretty cool. I thought the signage was good and it’s only €5.
I love the line in the article that says:
“hidden for centuries by layer upon layer of urban development”
reminds me of what one of our tour guides explained - that Rome is like a lasagna!
