Exchange Colosseum tour reservations

I purchased tickets for my family on June 8, 2015 for the exclusive underground tour at the Colosseum on April 18 from coopculture, when the tickets went on sale. My reservation came back as June 9, a date my family leaves Rome and was sent to my junk mail. I understand that there is a no return policy - can anyone help us find a solution. I would sell my June 9th tickets, join another group tour, split up our group of four, trade tickets - thank you so much. We are coming from Canada, mostly for this tour! We SO desperately want to go on this tour through coop culture.

The only thing I can think of is to buy tickets through an actual tour group and spend the extra money. It's a lot more expensive to join a group vs. just buying the tickets off the website, but there are tours out there that are still open. I have booked through "The Roman Guy" in July. They still are available on June 8th. Good luck!

Go to the coopculture website and find the email address for customer service at the bottom of the page. Email them to let them know the situation and see if they can reschedule the tour for the earlier date. They may or may not be able to do this. If they can-great, if not, you will need to try to rebook through the official site or take a tour with a private agency.

Thank you for your suggestions! Coopculture has been helpful with my booking mistake.

I decided to book a Colosseum night tour through Rome-Museum for 24Euro this doesn't include the Roman Forum or Palatine Hill. I will be in Rome on the first Sunday of the month. So if i decide to view the Colosseum, RF and PH during daylight, I can go for free.

I hope you enjoyed your Colosseum experience! I, unfortunately, also experienced the same problem last night when booking the underground tour at the Colosseum through the Coopculture website. Thank you for posting your question here as I was able to also use Donna's advice (thank you Donna) to send an email request to change our reservation to the date I thought I was booking. I don't know if anything will come of it but I am hopeful. Worst case scenario, I will have to take a loss on the tickets purchased last night, make a new purchase for the correct date, and just chalk this mistake up to a learning experience!

I would add, for others new to this process, that the problem seems to be when you are choosing your tour date. In addition to choosing the date from the drop-down menu there is also, on the right hand side of the calendar, a list of times beginning with 00:00 to choose from. Once I figured this out (I went through the process again trying to figure out where I had gone wrong), I simply chose the date I wanted and 00:00, clicked on the next box labelled "CERCA", and I then had a screen showing all the available times for that particular day. I hope this information will be of help to others.

A word of caution? It's usually advised not to go the most popular attractions on a free Sunday as they'll be positively mobbed. Expect very, very long lines, and especially so at the Colosseum.

Hi Karen! I'm back from my trip and I have great news. What started out to be unfortunate turned into the best colosseum experience. Coop, after a lot of persistence, gave me a refund. It took a lot of phone calls and emails but finally they agreed to a refund. I was pleasant in my requests but also persistent (probably even annoying hehe). I rebooked a tour through rome-museum.com at 8:30pm for cheaper than coop! My tour group, approx 15 people, and I had the whole colosseum to ourselves. It included the underground and upper bowl. No crowds, no heat!! It was still light out and later into the tour, lights were turned on. It was our best night in Rome. You could really enjoy the colosseum for its grandeur while it is quiet and wide open for viewing. I highly recommend this!!! Plus, it freed up an afternoon. If you have any questions, please let me know!!

Hi e.j., so glad to hear that everything worked out better than expected! Thanks for the update and the info regarding the other tour. We will definitely get our tour of the Colosseum, one way or another! :)

Glad it worked out for you, e.j.berdan!
Had a senior moment (too many of those these days!) and didn't register than you'd already been and gone by the time I posted about free Sundays.

But I'm curious: did you try to do the Colosseum, RF and PH on that day, and how did that go for you?
