Can anyone recommend an excellent tour guide/driver, by name and company used, for the Amalfi area? There will be 4 of us and we'd like a small group, no more than 12 people. We want to visit Positano, Ravello, Amalfi, Sorrento and maybe Praiano. Would all these be possible in an 8-10 hour day?

Several years ago 4 of us used Francesco Marrapese as our driver/guide for the Amalfi Coast area. It was a private tour, just the 4 of us. We were on a cruise and he picked us up in Naples for a day trip. He customizes the trip to what you want to do. We visited Pompei, Positano, and Sorrento. He was a excellent driver and guide and we had a wonderful day with him. He has his own web site which you can find on google, and he is also reviewed on TripAdvisor. He could tell you if you could fit all that in in 9-10 hours. Have fun.

I would highly recommend Mondo Tours from the RS guidebook. We did the tour with them in mid-June and our guide, Mario, was fabulous. He made it feel like a group of friends out for a drive and had lots of interesting insights to share. Our family of 4 was paired with a family of 3 and I felt it was a great value for what we got. Great seats no matter where you sat.

We used Umberto Limos Positano for all our transfers over 10 days in June and they were terrific. Their prices were more reasonable than Mondo for us.
Visiting all those towns in one day is possible if you only want a glimpse. We stayed in Ravello, Praiano, Positano and Sorrento and there's no way to really appreciate these towns as a day tripper. Our two favorites are Ravello and Positano. No real reason to stop at Praiano.

I second Mondo tours, we did them a few years ago in an 8 passenger, Mercedes van with 4 other people, and it was great. I cannot remember the guide's name, but if you search Mondo tours on this site, my post may be there, as well as others' posts. Very reliable ompany.

We used Top Excursion, Giovanni Guidone for 3 different days(a party of 4). He was wonderful.
We were staying in Positano and the one day was just a day trip to Amalfi and Ravello. In hindsight I wish we had just gone to Ravella and spent the whole day there. If you expect to see all those towns in one day most of your time will be spent in the car.
