I am aware that the Vatican now has new hours and no longer permits early acess tours (tour companies are calling their earliest tours "first access"). I am wondering what is happening with the evening tours? I've checked numerous tour comapnies that used to have evening tours, and they either have been removed or when a date is selected (I'm looking in May), they say they have no tours available. Does anyone know of any company still offering evening tours?

Have you checked the Vatican website to see if they still have evening hours? If they do, purchase a ticket for that time. I did that this past June. You do not need a tour company.

I think the extended evening hours are only in high season--or at least that was the case in the past. I don't know the exact dates. I think the late hours weren't daily, either. I believe it was a Friday-only thing, or perhaps Friday and Saturday.

Earlier this month I e-mailed the official Vatican Tours e-mail -- Tours Musei [email protected] -- with the same question. Here's the answer they sent back:

With reference to your email, we really regret to inform you that both tours Prime experience and Extra time will be no longer available for 2024.
