Evening return from Positano to Sorrento

Hi all,

Planning to spend the day in Positano tomorrow and look for some advise on getting there and back from Sorrento.

We'll head there by either bus or boat and would really like to make a day of it and spend some time in Positano in the evening and so I wondered what sort of options we have for getting back in the evening?

From my understanding (correct me if I'm wrong) there are a few buses in the evening but having got the bus back from Amalfi today and seeing how many people got on at Positano and had to stand crammed in like Sardines for the rest of the trip, this isn't really our favoured option. We've also heard that a taxi back would be around €100 which is over budget and so I wondered if there were any other options?

Am I right on thinking the last boat is late afternoon?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Have you asked at the front desk( assuming you are in a hotel) for info.

Is there a Tourist Info office nearby? I did not need one when I was in Sorrento, so did not look for one, but cannot imagine there is not at least one there.

Anthea, current ferry schedules show the last boats leaving Positano at 5:00 PM (17:00).

SITA bus would be your option if that's too early as they run until much later into the evening:
