I'm trying to buy tickets for my wife and me on the Eurostar in Italy (Rome to Florence). How do we get seats together? I can't find a seat layout map. The web site wants to assign us seats that don't appear next to each other. For example, couch 5, seats 63 & 68.
We're using the reduced Amica fares, if that makes a difference.
Don't worry about the seat numbering, you will automatically get seats together next to each other or facing each other if the tickets are purchased under the same transaction.

Now if I just could figure out why the payment system blocks payment on everything.
We had the same problem 2 years ago with having payments blocked. As I recall I finally understood that they are very picky about credit card transactions (due to fraud?). What helped: 1. Make sure that you call your bank before running the transaction to make sure they know you will be doing it. 2. Check the transaction limit that Eurostar allows for one day. If you exceed it they may block you for a day or 2. Sounds odd, but eventually we got all our reservations/tickets.
I eventually gave up on charging online. I called two cards issuers and both confirmed no problem. I set up a new account in my wife's name. Nothing worked. I finally gave up and walked to Termini (not far from our hotel) and bought in person, using a credit card the web did not accept. It cost a few percent more, but the web site was too frustrating, especially since we were trying to get Amica fares. These came and went, seemingly at random.
