Have 15 days. Honeymoon. Florence to Venice,With possible trips to (Bologna / Verona) Venice to Rome, Rome to Naples(day trip). Train Travel How hard is it too use a Euro-rail Pass with reserved trains? Is it more cost efficieve to use Eurorail Pass vs pay as you go. This is our first time in Europe. Thanks
Anthony
You generally don't need a rail pass if you are traveling within Italy. By your ticket at the station. The automated machines are pretty easy to use. Buy 2nd class tickets too. 1st class is a waste of money and you will be able to mingle with other travelers.
Pay as you go. Purchase at the train station automated kiosks. Nuf said.
Thank you, all!
I am really looking forward to the trip.

Trenitalia has advance purchase discount fares called meno30 (30% discount) and meno15 (15% discount) on high-speed trains and certain others. If you buy your tickets on the day you arrive in Italy for rides near the end of your stay, you might be able to get meno15 fares (must be purchased a minimum of seven days in advance). There is an allotted number of tickets so they might be gone by the time you arrive, but there's no harm in trying. For details, go here.
Happy honeymooning!
