Europcar Rental Car in Siena

We have an existing reservation in Siena with drop off set for a Sunday afternoon. Email with the company indicates that we can use the drop box without any additional fee added to our existing reservation.

--Is there anyone with firsthand experience doing this? Is it OK?

-Are any of these locations in a ZTL?
Four Points Hotel, Europcar rental car, train station?

  • Sorry I have no first hand experience returning the car at Siena on Sunday when the office is closed. But if Europcar told you you can return the car and drop off the keys in some drop box at no extra charge I presume it’s ok. Are you going somewhere else after returning the car on Sunday. If you don’t feel comfortable you can return it on Monday morning when the office is open.
  • The train station is well outside the ZTL. The Europcar office is even further away from the ZTL in a modern commercial/business park complex about 2 miles from the station, so away from the old historical center. No ZTL around there. Your Sheraton hotel is about 1.5 miles away from the station, so at least 2 miles from the ZTL. It’s on a hill right next to the Siena University Medical Center and Med School. You will probably see it from the hotel. It’s one of the largest hospitals in Tuscany. The hotel is not really walking distance to the city center, so you will need either a taxi or a city bus. There are a couple of city bus lines that go from the Med. Center to Piazza Gramsci, the city bus station in the city center. You can use those buses too.
