Europcar in Sicily, good or bad reviews?

We will probably pick up a rental car in Sicily from Europcar, but have never used them before. We usually get full insurance, but wanted to know if anyone that had used them had good or bad reviews. Dropping the car in Cefalu and couldn't find any other companies there.

Thanks for any tips.

We've been renting from Europcar in Italy for many years and have been very happy with them. I imagine that some offices are better than others, but we've never had a problem. In Sicily last March, we picked up a Europcar car from the Palermo airport, drove it all over Sicily for a month, and returned it to the same airport.

I’ve rented cars from Europcar multiple times but not in Sicily. No complaints in my experience.

Europcar is a well established 75 y.o. multinational car company based in France but with a significant presence not only in Europe but all over the world (including the US where it operates with the brand name of Fox Rent a Car, a California company that Europcar acquired years ago).

I suggest that you also check if you can get a better deal using www.autoeurope.com, a reliable broker many of us here use. AutoEurope works with all major companies including Europcar. Insurance is part of the deal you will find in their website, however you can upgrade your coverage to include the zero deductible option (about $4 a day more) and also the premium all inclusive coverage which includes windshields and undercarriage (that is generally not covered otherwise), for about $10 to $12 per day more. That is the option I generally use so I don’t have to worry about anything.
If you want to skip the above extra coverage options, at least make sure your credit card will reimburse you for those uncovered items (not all credit cards do, especially for Italy rentals). Deductibles are at least 1,000€ while even the smallest damage to a windshield can cost hundreds of “picciuli” (money in Sicilian dialect)

I’ve also had good experiences with them, three rentals across three countries including Sicily. I dropped mine off in Cefalu as well. It’s just off the one road in town, so just be aware that traffic can get backed up. Gas stations along the way though.
