EuroPass for Italy

I will be leaving for Italy on October 10. I already received my 4 day pass months ago. After further research on the train schedule, it seems that I need reservations for some of the train ride; especially from Firenze to Venezia and from Venezia to Rome. Should I wait till I get to Rome and make the reservations for later in the week (that is when I will be using the rail pass) or should I make them now before I leave. I know that just because you have a pass; the pass does not guarantee a reservation.

Any information is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Anthony, Yes, you need reservations for most of the main train lines in Italy. Just wait until you get to Rome to make the res. It's very easy. Make sure you have the train schedule ahead of time and decide on which train you want to use. Then just show the ticket office the date and time of train you want (and your Europass) and they will charge you the additional amount for the res. Being Oct, you should have no trouble getting them at that time.
