What happens if Greece defaults? What does that mean for us visitors especially if we are visiting Greece and Italy in October/November? Will we be able to get money from the atm if the banks close down, etc.?

When Argentina defaulted in 2002 there was rioting in the streets, and the president had to flee the country by helicopter from the roof of the presidential palace. There was a run on the banks and the government had to put a freeze on all bank accounts. Just an example from history, for whatever it's worth. Argentina eventually recovered.
