Eurail Train Passes - Buy an extra train day???

So I am buying a eurail train pass... here is my travel question, I am wondering which pass to buy: We are traveling from Chamonix, France to Florence, Italy Looking at the DB Bahn train time tables: We are leaving Chamonix on a Monday late afternoon - OVERNIGHT (with like 4 changes in the middle of the night!) - arriving in Florence at about 9am. My question: HOW MANY TRAVEL DAYS IS THAT??? I need to know if that will be considered ONE or TWO travel days with my regional rail pass with France-Italy. Thank you!

Um.. nope. NOT my only train trip. I simply didn't want to post all of my plans online. Just this part of our trip confuses me. ANYONE got an answer for me? THANK YOU! * For those who maybe need more info, I am deciding between buying a 4 or 5 day pass. I need to know if the above transfer is considered ONE travel day or TWO???

I would assume that you have a Global Eurail pass. As of Jan 1 of this year, France no longer participates in the 3, 4 and 5 country Select pass. As for your question, the Eurail pass has a 7pm rule for direct trains. If your train departs after 7:00pm and arrives the next day after 4:00am, you only need to post the arrival time. My question. Is a run with 4 changes in the middle of the night considered a "direct" train? Here's the link to the Eurail page for the 7:00pm rule. http://www.eurail.com/help/choosing-pass/what-travel-day

Thanks Larry. Nope our pass is the regional (I know about the 3-5 country change) France-Italy. So since our bus-train combo from Chamonix is leaving at 3:45p on Monday & arrives in Florence the next day at 9:10am... I would assume that we would need TWO travel days then, right?
