Etruscan collection...where is the best collection?

I have become interested in this art work/population. I will be traveling throughout London, Paris, Florence, Venice, Rome, Orvieto, Assisi, Naples, etc.

I really want to just make one stop to see this collection. Where would I find the most extensive Etruscan collection?

Thank you!

Question: "Where would I find the most extensive Etruscan collection?"One of the most extensive collections of Etruscan art and artifacts is in Rome at the Museo Nazionale di Villa Giulia, located at Piazzale di Villa Giulia, 9.And while in Rome you could see the Etruscan art at the Vatican Museum.Until you get to Europe, you could see two collections of Etruscan art closer to home: at the J. Paul Getty Museum (Malibu branch) and at the LA County Museum of Art (details on their website). Farther away than LA, but still closer than Europe, is the Metropolitan Museum in NYC.

Kent, Los Angeles COUNTY is large but not a country yet. LACMA's collection is good but seeing Etruscan art in Italy is a much better option. Since you'll be in Paris you could also check out the Louvre's collection. Your choice. Enjoy your journey.

Hi Judy,
I'm not sure how the collection of Etruscan artifacts in Orvieto compare to the other locations that you'll be visiting but we found the Underground Orvieto Tour (Parco delle Grotte) very interesting.

Also, behind the cathedral in Orvieto, is the National Archaeological Museum of Orvieto--they have a small collection of Etruscan bronze and ceramic artifacts.

The Etruscan collection in Orvieto is worthwhile seeing, but the best and largest we saw was in Volterra.

Judy-

You may not want to make this your "one stop", but the British Museum in London has a good Etruscan collection. If you happen to visit the British Museum, you may want to make the Etruscan section a priority. Have a great time!
