Absolutely; especially if the price is right. Also a plus if they fly the 380 on that routing.

OK, thank you. I had seen an offer of a return FCO to JFK flight on one search, so mistakenly thought Etihad did RT JFK-FCO-JFK.

Since it would involve a stop in Abu Dhabi, my advice would be to avoid it.
