Google and ETIAS are both confusing and contradictory on if the ETIAS is required now (April/May 2026).
May as well also ask about EES

ETIAS isn’t in effect anywhere in Europe. It won’t be implemented before the last quarter of 2026. For all relevant information, see the official EU website https://travel-europe.europa.eu/en/etias
