I been there many times but not since they started charging a fee. I'd like to know which of the entrances still exist, albeit for a fee. Is there still an entrance across from the Visitors' Center (across the street)? Can you still walk down from the Capitoline and is that entrance still open? Is the entrance at the Arch of Titus still in operation? Thanks.
The entrance by the arch of Titus is now only an exit. Not sure about the others you mentioned.
From Ron in Rome, back when this first happened:
"The way they have the Forum blocked off, you now can exit from Palatine Hill either BACK to the Colosseum on San Gregorio or cut through to the Forum. What you cannot do now is go from the Coloseum up the hill to the Forum... they have that blocked off as exit only.
You can enter the Forum from Palatine or from the "new" entrance on Via Imperiali, the main drag. Yeah, it's not as easy as it used to be!"
Not certain about the Capitoline since we didn't go that far. We entered at Palatine and dropped down into the Forum without any trouble.
You can definitely get in across from the Coloseum and down from the Palatine Hill.
I think the Capitoline location is now exit only, but I can't be positive.
