We're planning to go to Venice, Florence and Rome with a 4 year old. I've looked at different websites and it is not clear what museums charge for kids for entrance. Some sites say it is free for kids under 6 as long as they are EU nationals. Can anyone shed some light on this matter? Would appreciate it
My daughter, 10, has been let in free most places or at a reduced rate and has never asked for any type of ID. The only place that has ever charged us full price was the Valley of Temples in Agrigento.
Most places will give free or reduced entry to EU nationals under 6 and between certain ages. Your child will not qualify for any discounts in Rome other than at the Vatican museums (it's not a part of Rome but they do give a student discount). I would be prepared to pay the full entry price for everyone in the family. Donna
