Hello,
I'm looking at a flight returning to US, from Naples, Luthansia flight to Munich with an 1:35 min layover before my United flight to Newark. Never been to Munich airport, so am in a quandary. Thanks for your help.

If it is one ticket that is enough time otherwise the airline could not sell it to you that way. If you miss the connection due to the first flight not departing on time the airline is liable and will just put you on the next flight with available space from Munich to the USA. Your other flight options on one ticket with a longer layover probably cost more than you want.

I have had several layovers at the Munich airport and assuming you arrive on time, 1:35 minute layover should be fine.
